Hi! Im Gordon! I am a sweet little guy (a little rolly polly though!) who came into to rescue just recently. I was turned into animal control after my owners had me for only a year and then decided they did not have the time for me anymore. I was sad, but still hopeful to find a new family. But once I was there for almost 3 weeks I started to get scared that no one would ever come for me. after all, why wouldn't they? I was such a good dog, or I tried by best to be. I was housetrained, crate trained, loves to go for car rides, adored playing with balls, and just in general loved to be with people. I even got along well with other dogs (as long as I was introduced right) and I do ok with cats. so you can see why I was so confused. Well the other day some people came in to take a look at me, they were this thing called a rescue. and they took me out played ball with me touched my feet, tail, lips all of that and decided i was a good candidate for adoption. So they have me here at the rescue and its ok, but still not "home". I am looking to be a travel buddy with someone, I want to be with people all the time, I know basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, and even roll over. I kind of have selective hearing through because sometimes my nose overpowers me and I forget what I was supposed to do. thats a hound for you! I am looking for a family with older kids, I would really like to be the only dog however 1 other dog would be ok. again, I just need to be introduced right to them for the first time. The rescue said they could help with that. I have to have a fenced in yard, once again because of the breed i am I like to run around and act silly and my nose gets away from me. I need some help with pulling so much on the leash but that will come in time. I also really need help with getting some of this weight off so short daily walks gradually increasing in time would be great. It will help me live longer and be with you much longer!
